The menu consists of Southern classics food with a touch of Asian flair. I have to say that I was disappointed of the food probably due to the number of rave reviews about this place and had high expectations for this place. The food was good but not superb. Because I have a reference point based on my past dining experience, I can compare dishes that are prepared by different chefs.

While you wait for your food, order a milkshake. We ordered a simple chocolate milkshake and a banana split milkshake. Both were sweet, rich and tasty. You can opt for the Toasted Marshmallows Milkshake with Nutella if you want something adventurous.

As for appetizers, I have to agree with the majority that the Ahi Tuna Tacos is a must order, well seared on the outside and fresh in the middle, the Asian slaw is not overpowering so that it doesn't mask the taste of tuna. The fried pickles come with two sauces - maple-dijon and spicy ketchup, both were flavourful. However, these bite-size treats tasted more like breaded crust than the actual pickle. The balance is a bit off. I would prefer pickles to be cut lengthwise rather than crosswise. The sourness of the pickles along with the nice crunch of the breaded crust would make it more pleasant to eat when dipped in sauce. It's really just a matter of personal preference...

As for the mains, the schnitzel is nicely breaded, not too thick. But I rather have a lemon wedge on the side rather than a pool of peeled lemon wedges on top of the schnitzel. The spaetzles (German pasta) are a letdown since they were fried in olive oil. It tasted mainly olive oil instead of the spinach flavour from the spaetzle which was quite unpleasant. If fried in butter, it will make it enjoyable to eat. Lastly, the lobster BLTA served on brioche buns. The taste of lobster is a bit underwhelming as it lacks its delicate "seafood" flavour.

I would recommend this place to friends but it wouldn't be on the top of my list if asked for restaurant recommendations. I would definitely go back for their drinks and milkshakes, and also the ahi tuna tacos...
