This resto-pub is probably the only place where you can get the full British experience. The atmosphere brings you back in time with its elegant and vintage decor. Pretty much every item in their food menu is hearty and comforting that one typically finds in a British menu. It also has the 'Sunday Roast', an English pub staple, consisting of roast beef drowned in gravy, Yorkshire pudding, vegetables and mashed potatoes.

The scotch egg is a must order - soft-boiled eggs coated with sausage meat and bread crumbs. The whole is deep-fried to give a golden crust. One of life's simplest pleasure is to cut into this soft-boiled and let it ooze all over the plate. This is served with a light, fresh spinach-watercress salad and horseradish sauce to cut down the richness of the scotch egg.

As for the mains, we ordered the baked cod served on top of a sweet carrot purée and creamy kale, garnished with some super-crispy potato chips. The pork sandwich is a shredded pork roast with iceberg lettuce and sweet and sour sauce. The pork tasted similar to the flavour of roasted pork typically found in Chinatown.

I love desserts that are hot counterbalances with ice cream. The sticky toffee pudding is one of them - super moist and piping hot sponge date cake, covered in hot toffee sauce, served along with vanilla ice cream.

I'll definitely go back to try out their cocktail menu and also, their other British puddings.
