Chez Victoire is the fourth restaurant visited for Taste MTL. My friends chose this location for their use of local and organic products. When I reserved this restaurant, I didn't know that Chez Victoire is the same owner as Confusion Tapas, visited last week.
The menu consisted of 3 courses. For appetizers, the tataki dish has an interesting play on soft and crunchy textures; the angus beef was well seared blended well with the herb vinaigrette. As for the other appetizer, the scallop was perfectly cooked served with a creamy and flavourful velouté. What a start!
The fish was cooked to perfection - crispy skin, soft and flaky inside, combined well with the tomato-based vinaigrette and garnishes. The braised pork cheeks was fork-tender and flavourful, seasonal vegetables were fresh and well grilled.
Finally, the chocolate fondant with ice cream was scrumptious, but I would expect a bit of more flavours from the ice cream. I have to say that I prefer the dessert of Confusion Tapas over this.
