Ottawa - I guess this restaurant is not considered as a hidden gem as it is located in ByWard Market. Play Food & Wine is all about tapas, a combination of small plates that makes a full meal. Here you can pair your food with their suggested wine. Definitely, it is an enjoyable experience to have a little taste of everything. Every tapas we ordered, the flavours were well balanced. Our absolute favourite tapas would probably be the tomato salad - fresh, juicy and sweet. For desserts, the whoopie pies are a must order - the cake was sweet and tart, the filling was rich and creamy, thid is just mouthwatering.

Alaskan Scallops with Curry, Cauliflower, and Collard Greens

Marinated Gulf Shrimp with Quinoa, Almonds, and Bacon

Tomato Salad with Mizuna, Fennel, Sour Cherry and Cheddar Fritters

Desserts - Whoopie Pies and Chocolate Pâté

Whoopie Pies - Lemon, Meringue, Pistachio, and Raspberry Coulis

Chocolate Pâté - Coffee Cream and Earl Grey Cream
