Montreal is definitely lacking of old-fashioned Southern food - fried chicken, biscuits, bourbon, pulled pork, etc... You can find some of these at Icehouse. I have to say that this place has some ups and downs. For an enjoyable Southern experience, the bourbon lemonade is a must drink - light, lemony, and a nice punch of bourbon. The bucket of fried chicken was somewhat of a let-down, not very juicy on the inside and under-seasoned crispy skins. They could at least brine or soak the chicken in buttermilk to make it juicier. On the positive note, the buttermilk biscuits were soft, buttery and crumbly. All the tacos were tasty and have a nice contrast of flavours and texture. Homemade popsicle is a nice treat to order to finish off the meal, palate cleansing and delectable strawberry taste.
